Being released from prison can sometimes be even more traumatic for a person than being inside.
Sometimes men and women who have learned how to cope inside prison find it difficult to adjust after their release.
Our desire at PF is to help them make the connections and relationships that will enable them not only to return, but also contribute to community. Pray for our staff who work with those released, and for Neil our Aftercare Worker who engages with the men on a one to one basis and co-ordinates weekly events at the Centre.
Give thanks for the men who seek aftercare support following release from prison.
Pray for those in prison who will be released soon. Pray for those that have been recently released or received a non-custodial sentence and need help. Give thanks for those who have made a commitment to Christ and are making their way with God in control. Pray for God to continue to bless us with men who want hope and a new beginning.
There are many challenges for those who have been through the criminal justice system in Northern Ireland.
Pray for those who are homeless, unemployed, in poverty, in ill health, struggling with addiction, self-harm and suicide, those under threat or fear in the community. Many have very complex needs – please pray for Prison Fellowship and all those agencies who provide help and aftercare support – with God’s help there is hope for all in need.
Give thanks for the men who have made a commitment to Jesus.
We are privileged to be part of a man’s journey as he walks with God and begins to rebuild his life. Give thanks for men who have found a new home, men who have found jobs, men who have never read a book and are now reading the Bible, men who have been isolated and alone finding friendship, families restored, men being accepted into Church and attending every week, the list is endless and continues. This is only of God, pray for His continued favour and blessing upon us.
