“When God balances the scales morally, it is not some standard outside Himself He looks at and then determines whether this is right or wrong. But rather it’s His very nature, it is His very character and nature that is the standard by which He judges.”

Law & Justice Prayer Requests

Pray for those with responsibility for administering our justice system. Pray they will have wisdom as they establish new laws and legislate for fair and just sentences.

Pray for those in the legal profession who respectively defend, prosecute and sentence people for crimes and whose lives and futures are in their hands. Pray they have compassion, but act righteously.

Pray for all those involved in making policies and fixing budgets, that the right decisions would be made which gives priority to rehabilitation and strong, safe communities.

Pray for probation officers across the country, that God would give them strength and energy to keep going under heavy workloads. May they see the person in front of them through God’s eyes, and may God give them creativity and perseverance to work through any problems.

Pray for the Probation system, which is struggling to keep up with the demand placed on it. Pray that those in leadership might have wisdom to know how to improve the service, and support men and women on their release.

Pray for organisations who work to ensure that the justice system takes into account the welfare of dependent children when sentencing mothers. Pray that their work is well received, and this will help to reduce the devastating impact that prison has on children separated from their mothers.

Remember those who are accused as well as their families who will be affected by such crimes, that they will be submissive to those in authority both in the Courts and in Prisons.

“Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne;
love and faithfulness go before you.

Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim you,
who walk in the light of your presence, Lord.”

Psalm 89: 14-15
